“Hadzabe Boy” Tanzania
One of our day’s in Africa was spent visiting the Hadzabe Bushman tribe outside Lake Eyasi. I was struck by how primitive they lived and how unwilling they were to adapt to the changing world around them. They’re a nomadic tribe of hunter/gatherers, with just under 1,000 of their people remaining. The encroachment of farming and civilization has decreased their lands and compromised their very existence. I left with the feeling that I was witnessing the last of their kind.
